It all begins with an idea. It takes a special ability to translate that idea into place. A skilled, mindful architect can be the perfect fit to guide you from the initial stages of dreams and ideas, through the process of creating drawings that tell the story and finally into the manifestation of a home or building.
The Process
schematic design
The schematic phase is when the basic forms of the building are developed, when the adjacencies and special relationships are tested, and overall design is put to paper. A great deal of fast and loose sketching happens to brainstorm ideas that can become successful designs.
design development
The design development phase is used to put a finer point on details such as materials, code compliance, or budget feasibility. It’s the phase when a concept is transformed into a working solution.
constuction documents
The construction drawings phase is where the developed design solution is documented for both permitting, and construction. The completion of this phase yields a set of plans, elevations, sections, and details that describe the final scope of work.
